While the Supreme Court's decision last week did not actually weigh in on the constitutionality of birthright citizenship, it did impose a limit on nationwide injunctions. In other words, no longer can district courts issue injunctions that apply everywhere—injunctions will only apply specifically to that case at hand. This sets up conditions for a a flood of lawsuits to be filed in an already backed up court system, and a move towards class action and state-plaintiff lawsuits to protect as much people as possible. ...
